ASSOCIATION (AHEPA) FAYETTEVILLE CHAPTER No. 9
Brothers of Fayetteville Chapter # 9 of AHEPA met on Monday evening at 7:00PM at the Hellenic center with 14 members in attendance. Reports of the various committees were made as well the Treasurer’ Report.Prayers were sought for AHEPA members Butch Raynor and Tony Rand. It was noted that the Church’s recent Greek Festival was a success and thanks were given for the AHEPA members who contributed their time and talents to this annual project. We discussed the up-coming Holly Day Fair food booth that we operate each year will be coming up soon. The dates are November 7-10. This is a major fund raiser for our scholarship awards. We need AHEPA members to participate in this important event. Contact Lt. Governor Steve Goodson for details. Brother Taso Hasapis has volunteered to Chair a Committee to raise funds for a service dog. This is a National AHEPA project to furnish service dogs to veterans with special disabilities .Fayetteville Chapter # 9 has already contributed $1000 towards a goal of $15,000. Brother Taso Hasapis has contributed $500 to this project to demonstrate his commitment. Taso will be in touch with AHEPA members as well as members of the public to participate in this very worth venture. We welcomed our newest member to AHEPA with an initiation. We are delighted to have Derek Koukies as a Brother AHEPA member.

The highly coveted Chris Hondros Award was presented to Lily Poulos by Mrs. Inga Hondros in memory of her son and his great accomplishments as a photo-journalist. Congratulations to these young students, their parents and Grandparents. May their accomplishments be great!
The AHEPA member of the year was awarded to Alfred Barefoot for his commitment to our AHEPA and our community at large. Congratulations Alfred!
Fayetteville Chapter #9 of AHEPA announced they would be donating $10,000 to the Hellenic Center Renovation Fund and the Daughters of Penelope announced that they would be donating $5000. The Hellenic Center has brought much pleasure to the members of Sts. Constantine and Helen Church as well as the general public.
