AMERICAN HELLENIC EDUCATIONAL PROGRESSIVE

ASSOCIATION (AHEPA) FAYETTEVILLE CHAPTER No. 9

“Chartered May 16, 1923”

Brothers:

Fayetteville Chapter 9 of AHEPA met on October 15 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Church.
Fifteen members were in attendance.

Secretary John Bantsolas noted that the Wilmington Ladies Philoptochos organization had sent us an invitation to their Dinner and Dance on October 27 in Wilmington. Brothers were encouraged to attend if their schedules permit to support the Hellenic community in Wilmington.

Membership applications were discussed and prospects of new members were reported by Brother Tasos Hasapis and Brother John Bantsolas.

Our Annual Athenian Night is planned for February 9, 2019. Committee members are Pete Kalogerinis, Bill Drewry, John Bantsolas and Joe Da Rosa.

District Governor Steve Goodson discussed our Holly Day Fair booth which will operate at the Crown Center November 1-4. This is a fund raiser for our chapter and volunteers are needed.

President Tal Baggett led a discussion of the third Octet of Hellenism, that of the Free Mind. Only through the use of a free mind can we use reason to arrive at truth. This is a unique Greek concept and did not exist prior to the Greek civilization.

Our next meeting will be Monday, November 19, 2018.

Respectfully Submitted
Judge Tal Baggett
